چکیده

Armyworm (Spodoptera litura) is an important pest that damages the leaves of soybean. SlNPV one type pathogen has potential as a biocontrol agent to control armyworms because it specific, selective, and effective. This study aimed investigate compatibility between lemongrass in controlling armyworm. The Research was conducted at Laboratory Indonesian Legumes Tuber Crops Institute (ILETRI) from February 2016 until April 2016. using completely randomized design with 7 treatments 3 replication treatment consists control, SlNPV-JTM 97C 1,5 × 106 PIB/ml, 10% extract, combination fixed concentrate PIB/ml 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, extract. results showed 1.5 had highest level virulence, 96% mortality on larva 100% pupa stage, so extracts compatible S.litura.

Spodoptera litura nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV-S) as a component in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of Spodoptera litura (Fab.) on cabbage

Field tests were conducted to evaluate the effect of Spodoptera litura (Fab.) nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPVS) alone and in combination with endosulfan and neemarin (neem seed kernel extract) against S. litura in cabbage. Treatment with NPV-S (500 LE/ha) + Endosulfan (625 ml/ha) was better in reducing the larval population and increasing yield than other treatments. However, considering cost b...

Enhancing the efficacy and persistency of Spodoptera litura (Fab.) nuclear polyhedrosis virus using UV irradiation protectants.

To enhance the field persistency of S. litura nuclear polyhedrosis virus (SLNPV), three chemicals viz. cupric ammonium nitrate, tinopal and cupric sulphate were tried as protectants (0.01 mg/ml) against natural sunlight (UV) irradiation. On exposure for 8 hr and subsequent bioassaying (diet surface treatment), it was found that cupric sulphate protected the polyhedrosis inclusion bodies (PIBs),...

The Role of Cytochrome c on Apoptosis Induced by Anagrapha falcifera Multiple Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus in Insect Spodoptera litura Cells

There are conflicting reports on the role of cytochrome c during insect apoptosis. Our previous studies have showed that cytochrome c released from the mitochondria was an early event by western blot analysis and caspase-3 activation was closely related to cytochrome c release during apoptosis induced by baculovirus in Spodoptera litura cells (Sl-1 cell line). In the present study, alteration i...

Comparison of Amino Acid Sequences of Halloween Genes in Spodoptera litura and Spodoptera littoralis

20-Hydroxyecdyone (20E), an active form of ecdysteroid, is the key hormone in insect growth and development. To date five P450 enzymes involved in the last four steps of ecdysteroid biosynthesis from ketodiol to 20E namely Spook (Spo), Phantom (Phm), Disembodied (Dib), Shadow (Sad) and Shade (Shd) related to ecdysteroid biosynthesis, are identified and the character of last four enzymes is well...

Growth Regulating Action of Leaf Extract of Cataranthus Roseus on Development of Spodoptera Litura

Feeding deterrents or antifeedant chemicals are those chemicals which inhibit feeding of insect on a treated food material without necessarily killing or repelling them. Plants with ant feeding properties are increasingly being used against phytophagous insect pests for protection of crops. In the present study of growth regulating action of Leaf extract of Catharanthus roseus on development st...
